Farmers' Market, in Foster, is now to be known as Prom Country Farmers' Market.
This market is held on the THIRD Saturday of every month - RAIN, HAIL or Shine
The markets are held in the grounds around the Foster War Memorial Arts Centre in Main Street, Foster and are open from 8:00am until Noon.
If the weather isn't sufficiently fine, the meeting room in the hall could be used, but stall holders will generally be encouraged to set up outside where they are in full view of passers-by coming into the town.
Individuals and groups in South Gippsland Shire, but preferably those from Foster and surrounds, can apply for a market stall to sell fresh produce and other goods grown or made in the municipality.
Made goods (Value Added) - such as preserves - are preferably to be comprised of local produce where practicable.
Each stall site is approximately three square metres, and will cost $25:00 per market if a booking is made and paid for three consecutive markets, or at a cost for $30:00 for a one-off market attendance.
Small-scale sellers of a single item - for example lemons - can sell their produce from a communal table for a fee of $10:00 per market.
The market organisers will do their best to ensure that stalls are not duplicating products, for example they do not want multiple stalls all just selling tomatoes.
The stall application form, which needs to be submitted to the Foster Community Association in advance, can be obtained by telephoning 5682 1345 or emailed at fct@vic.australis.com.au.
